Home instance is the closest thing to personal housing we have.
Unlike guild halls, we can't build any structures, but there are still plenty of upgrades available.
Home instances are located in all major cities themed for every race. Doesn't matter what race is your character, you can visit any of them anytime. You can also invite some friends.
Home Portal Stone is available on gem store for 900 gems and will port you from anywhere to an instance of a race what used it. Second use will port you back to original location.
Asuras own Applied Development Lab in Rata Sum.
Entrance is next to Magical Court Waypoint. It's jungle themed laboratory with very clean and flat design. Probably most convenient one for gathering. On other hands besides Belcher's Bluff NPC doesn't offer any vendors.
Hero's Canton entrance is located next to Mustering Ground Waypoint in Black Citadel.
Its habited by large Charr Warband. Tents and war machines are everywhere. Its most populated instance of all. Various vendors are present as well.
Salma District is whole Home Quarter in Divinity's Reach.
Entrance is next to Salma Waypoint. It have a very complicated layout but on other hands its most beautiful one. You have there houses, back alleys, gardens and lots of ambient NPCs. Various vendors and Belchers are also available.
Norns lives in Hunter's Hearth - multi-leveled hall next to Great Lodge Waypoint in Hoelbrak.
It's very wormy looking place covered with wood and animal furs. Heroic paintings are everywhere. All kinds of vendors are also present.
Dreamer's Terrace is plant themed home, on the bottom of the Grove, next to Ronan's Waypoint.
A Layout is quite confusing and not particularly pretty, but if you are vegetarian you have to live here. Services are limited to Belcher's NPC and repair station.
First upgrades what you will unlock are various NPCs. They will appear after you finish certain missions in your personal story. Some of them depend on your choices so you can't have every single one.
Most important upgrades what makes you came back every day are nodes. Not only gathering ones but also various chests from different zones and exclusive achievements. Nodes are shared between all instances so if you mine them in one its also disappear from others. They can be obviously gathered only once per day, per account. Since Home instances are part of regions, nodes count towards daily gathering achievements.
Nodes will cost you thousands of golds, and it will take years before it pays back. Sadly for some reason, unlike dungeons, fractals or raids is selling spots in Home instance on LFG against rules and you can be banned for that. On other hand its perfectly fine offer spot for free and ask for tips. If you own multiple accounts, upgrade just one and use others for profit since full instance provides around 2g per day per account.
Easiest or if you want cheapest, are nodes available at various currency vendors and achievements in new zones. Some of them were obtainable only during past events or history achievements what can't be done anymore. Fortunately those can be bought at Laurel vendor. Some nodes like Candy Corn or Wintersday tree are available only during certain festivals thru the year. Krait obelisk is a perfect place for charging your daily Quartz Crystals.
Semi-expensive are nodes and node packs on gem store. They contain low tier ores, trees, and herbs. Leather and Cloth racks can drop some of the low tier materials as well.
Most expensive nodes drop rarely from black lion chest, but you can buy them on trading post as well. At this moment you can buy nodes for all ores, trees and some high tier herbs.
New nodes are added time to time. All available upgrades are very nicely done on a wiki.A Link is in the description.
The last thing what can currently vitalize your Home Instance are cats. They will spread all over, throwing snowballs, cuddle, or fight each other. You have to catch every single one around the world. Some just want a bit of food, but others need a specific class, time of day or item. New cats are added pretty often, so if you want them all check cat wiki page every now and then. Link is in the description.
